Current Employment Opportunities

There are currently no open positions at the Butler Area Public Library.

Volunteer Opportunities

We are currently not accepting new volunteers at this time. Please check back for volunteer opportunities in the future.

Friends of the Library

Many libraries, state, nationwide, and worldwide, have Friends of the Library, which are non-profit, charitable groups formed to support their local libraries financially.  They are separate from the libraries they support and are made up of volunteers.

The Friends of the Butler Library help out with book sales, fundraising, community outreach, and more!

If you are interested in joining the friends of the library, you can email them at libfriends.butler@gmail.com to learn more.

Donate to the Library

Without the support of you, patrons and donors, the library would not be able to supply the community with the highest quality material and most recent resources. As the vibrant center of the community, we work hard to be a place of communication, culture, and collaboration. In order for the library to thrive, we need your help. We depend on investors like you to help the library continue to be the dynamic source of information, education, and possibilities in Butler.

My Library Campaign Annual Funding Drive

December 1, 2023

Dear Library Friends,

Here we are again, nearing the end of another year. Another year of growing, learning, and adapting. We here at the Butler Area Public Library want to say congratulations to each of you for tackling the ups-and-downs of 2023. Our library staff has done the same by continuing to grow our services to meet your needs. We have continued to offer Grab-N-Go Kits for all ages, and we grew our E-resources collections like Hoopla and Libby. Our genealogy department continues to fulfill requests for information from all over the world, and the reference department began offering 1-on-1 technology tutoring sessions again. We are dedicated to safely offering relevant services and programming to meet the ever-changing needs of our community.

This is where we need your help. By contributing to the annual "My Library" campaign, you provide the library with much-needed support for collection materials, building maintenance, equipment, repairs, and personnel. Without your support and that of our community, the library would be unable to grow. A library without a community is just a building of books; a library with a community is a brighter future. Patrons who make a donation of $100 or more will be eligible for fine forgiveness for one year. Each donation will be acknowledged with a thank you note and receipt for tax purposes.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support. Your gift ensures that the library will be able to provide services and programming both virtually and in person to our community.

Best regards,

Lori Hinderliter

Executive Director
