Butler Area Public Library COVID-19 UPDATE: 8 Jan 2020

Meeting our community’s informational needs in the safest way possible continues to be our goal. With that in mind, the Butler Area Public Library building will remain closed to the public for the foreseeable future, and we will continue to offer “No Contact” services.

The library administration will continue to assess the COVID-19 situation, monitoring the rate of infection for the Butler community. Our next update, with a possible change in services, will be released by the end of February.

Our "No Contact" services include the following:

  • Scheduled Curbside Pickups for all Materials

  • Grab and Go Activities

  • Virtual Programs

  • Reference Services such as Copying, Printing, Faxing and Scanning

  • Genealogy Research via Email or Telephone

The library staff will be available via phone and email Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 10 am-4 pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 am-6 pm, and Saturdays 9 am-12 pm.

Again, building access, including computer use and in-person genealogy research,

will not be available at this time.

The book drop will continue to be open, and returned materials will continue to be quarantined for 3 days.

Our book drops are open 24/7 for you to return your checked out library items.
Returned items will be quarantined for 3 days before getting checked in.
Fines will not accrue during the quarantine period.

Place items on hold and pick them up when you're notified that they are ready.

Front Door pickup is available (limited contact):
Grab and Go pickup is available by appointment. When the library staff calls to notify you that your items are ready for pickup, they will then schedule a day and time for you to pickup your items at the front door.

Wait until you are notified by phone call that your items are ready for pick up.



Email your documents to Make your subject line "Please Print" and include your name and phone in the body of the email.

We will contact you to schedule pick up once your documents are received and printed.

Library staff continues to monitor local, state, and federal recommendations regarding the response to the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Like many businesses and government agencies, our plan to resume regular services will happen in stages, with the safety of our patrons and staff as a priority.
