“Twilight” & “New Moon” back-to-back.
Open to kids ages 12-18 and their parents
Registration is required. We can only accept the first 50 to sign-up. To register either visit the library in person or call 724-287-1715 and give your name and the number of those coming with you.

at the library!

Toddler Story Time Addition
Toddler Story Time is getting an extra day in the week. WAHOO!!! In addition to the toddler story time on Tuesday's at 10:30am we will be offering a toddler story time on Wednesday's at 10:30am.

Severe Weather Policy
In the event of severe weather the Butler Area Public Library's policy is the following:
* If Butler Area Public Schools are delayed, our library will be open normal operating hours.
* If Butler Area Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather, our library will be open at 11:00AM.
* The Butler Area Public Library reserves the right to close, due to severe weather or other events beyond our control, if conditions are deemed unsafe for staff and/or patrons.
Please stay tuned to the Butler Radio Network, WISR, WLER, and WBUT, WPXI (Channel 11), WTAE (Channel 4) or KDKA (Channel 2) for information pertaining to delays and closings.
Library's New Database To Guide County's Jobseekers
The Butler Area Public Library has added a new database, Career Transitions, to its list of electronic resources in an effort to aid county residents who have been displaced and are looking for a new job, as well as those who are seeking their first job. This new product, which is designed to provide immediate help for people navigating the new economy, provides a practical and personalized experience for users of all backgrounds and technology comfort levels.
Access to this new resource is available free of charge - either at the library or remotely - to all county residents with a Butler Area Public Library card. Users will enter the library's website, click on the Reference tab located at the far right side at the top of the home page, and then select Career Transitions from the list of databases at the library. Additional information is available at the reference desk on the second floor of the library or by contacting reference staff at 724-287-1715 ext. 114.

This book provides an alphabetical listing of landmarks, post offices, creeks, railroad stations, ghost towns, and other places that just aren't there anymore. Entries are detailed with their locations, how they got their names, their significance, a brief history and name changes. Also included is a fresh overview of Butler County with up-to-date manufacturing, agricultural, natural history and demographics information with a brief histtory of each township. The book includes maps; footnotes; bibliography; black and white and colored photographs; and name, business, subject and locality index.
